Double denim is a trend that has been making its comeback for a couple of years now, but it is definitely not the easiest to style. This 90’s trend either looks super chic, or an absolute disaster and there seems to be no in-between. These three ways to style denim on denim will ensure you do not come across the ultimate wardrobe malfunction!
The Oversized denim look
Double denim is one trend, why not pair it with another? The over– sized trend, for that statement and bold look. Mom jeans and a baggy denim jacket paired together can look extremely cool, whilst also appearing effortless. A denim shirt with this look can also work. This style looks best with the same tone denim, so as not to ‘over– do’ this already striking look. Zoe Kravitz is famous for her 90’s style, and of course she rocks this baggy double denim look.

Skin- Tight denim
Opposing the baggy trend, the skin- tight look is definitely one that can look glamourous and really shows off the figure. Shirts tucked into skin– tight denim jeans can look chic and perfect for summer, or layering a denim shirt over a crop top with denim jeans again can look effortless but stylish. Fashionista Kim Kardashian styled the figure– hugging denim look and it is so easy to create her look for a fraction of the price.

Contrasting Colours
One of Gigi Hadid’s coolest looks was when she paired double denim with bright red. These two contrasting colours create a daring look and this is the perfect way to match an outfit with your makeup look and accessories. For example, by styling a bright red top, as Gigi did, with shoes and lipstick is an easy way to dress up an outfit.

Two– Tone Denim
Sometimes styling two pieces of different toned denim can be even harder than styling an outfit with the same wash of denim. The easiest way to ensure it doesn’t end in disaster is to style pieces that are opposite ends of the denim spectrum, so wear one dark blue denim piece with one light blue piece. A black denim jacket looks best with light blue denim jeans, if the jacket is embroidered you cannot go wrong! Bella Hadid rocks this look with a dark blue denim jacket, a blue crop and light wash jeans and again, it can be easily re- created.
